He knew every woman's darkest fantasy, but he'd never fulfilled his own.

David King is the world's most popular writer of erotic romance, but right now he has the worst case of writer's block. With his latest book months overdue, he retreats to his isolated lakeside cabin, eager to make the words come. But he can't even make himself come.

Desperate, he goes online--and orders home delivery of a "professional muse." Guaranteed, according to the website, to give him the “inspiration” he needs to finish his book. He’s skeptical at first, until there’s a knock on his door—and he discovers a girl who looks just like his leading lady on the other side.

Claire Jones just needs to use the phone. She’s broken down in the rain and needs to call a tow. So imagine her surprise when she knocks on the door of a random house in the woods, only to find her favorite author on the other side, inviting her in. The very same author whose book gave her the courage to run away from her abusive father and controlling husband—and try to start a brand new life.

So of course she has to accept David’s invitation to come inside. To get out of those wet clothes. To step into the shower…

Can true inspiration come from a mistake? And what happens when the actual muse finally knocks on David’s door?

This erotic romance novella (the first in a serial) contains hot, explicit descriptions of romantic activity and strong language with an alpha male and an innocent heroine. Only mature readers should download.

Ok. So here goes. I have finally decided to write my very first book review on Amazon. I have read hundreds of books from KU, but this is the first one for which I was seriously compelled to write a review. I had no problem with the writing itself. As a matter of fact, I found that the words and ideas flowed nicely. (Although there were a few grammatical errors and missing words) I made it through the first book, and although I was a bit disappointed with the decision Claire made, I understood it.

My actual problem started in the second book. I'm a very detail oriented person, which means I can't stand any type of plot hole in a story. Now, the one I had an issue with is actually comical, but turned the rest of this story into a DNF. Just a slight *spoiler* (but not really): There's a certain part in the story where Claire goes to take a shower, but instead of getting in, she sits on the bed to answer and email. The shower is left running. David joins her in the room. They start some sexy fun times. She mentions the shower still running. He tells her not to worry about it. Cue the continuation of said sexy fun times. So, here is where my problems began. NO ONE TURNED OFF THE SHOWER!!! Never was it mentioned that the shower was turned off. I kept waiting for it to be mentioned, you know, for my peace of mind, but no, the shower is never turned off. So now I'm trying to continue the story, but now my concentration is broken because all I hear in the background is that damn shower endlessly running. I tried getting back into the story several times over, but the shower was persistently running in the background. (FYI, my husband thinks I'm weird because I can't let something like this go.) Please, Ms. Starr, do a quick edit to include at least a sentence that someone went and turned off that shower.

Ok. So back to the rest of what made me quit reading this book. I found myself getting bored by what I felt was a little too much unnecessary angst. I did actually skip to the end so I totally get where that angst came from. This book did pull me in at the beginning but ended up losing me after the never ending shower. Sorry. I was so distracted from that one little detail that I couldn't reconnect with the characters. So, I give it a solid 3.5 because it is really well written for the amount that I did end up reading.

His Mistaken Muse The Muse Book 1 edition by Sadie Starr Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I really enjoyed this novella. I totally understand about that writer's block "Mr. King!"
This was a sweet story as well. I enjoy erotic stories that not only have a physical connection, but an emotional pull that allows you to relate to the characters.
I LOVED this book. I loved it loved it loved it. Had I of known it was this good I would have pushed all other romance book reviews to the side and read it first. Seriously.

I loved this book, couldn't put it down.
The story is very well written and the characters are great. I fell in love with Claire and David right away. He's an alpha male but with a soft heart and sexy as hell. I loved Claire right away, I found her to be vulnerable but gutsy at the same time. And the sex is HAWT!!! Fire alarm hot my kindle is still smokin.

Read this book you won't be disappointed. I'm down loading the next book right away because I'm addicted to Claire and David's story. I can't wait to see what happens next!
